What is the shelf life of Isomers products?
All of our Isomers products retain a shelf life of two years if they are stored out of sunlight & unopened . We recommend that all isomers products are stored in a cool and dry place. We do not recommend storing Isomers products in a moist bathroom as they could possibly be affected by humidity and variations in the room temperature. isomers products do not need to be stored in a refrigerator just in a place that is cool and dark.
How do I know if my isomers product has gone passed it's two year shelf life?
Each isomers bottle is coded with a unique lot number; the lot number can be located on the bottom of the bottle, printed in numeric characters. Should you have any doubts or concerns, please contact skinsynergie direct 0843 2892218. or jill@skinsynergie.co.uk with the lot number and product name. We will be able to assist you.
How often should I use my isomers product?

How long will my bottle of Isomers product last ?
This depends upon how often the product is used and how much product is used on each of your applications. Typically, a one ounce bottle of serum will last from two to three months if three to five drops are used in the morning and the night.
Can Isomer products can be used together ?
Isomer skin care products are designed and developed to be used together. Generally, we recommend that isomers serums be applied first followed by isomers creams, work using the thinnest formula first up to the thickest one. There is no wrong way to use the products. This wonderful flexibility of the isomers products is one of the numerous reasons why Isomers is a better skin care selection.
Will Isomers products cancel each other out ?
No they do not cancel each other out. Isomers skin care products can easliy all be used together so you can create your own skin care regime for the results you want.
Are Isomers products suitable for all skin types and colours ?
Yes. Isomers skin care products are based on an overall need and desire for a healthy skin. Isomers do not categorise their finished products into skin type solutions, but they are divided in to useful skin care treatments. Isomers understand the basic requirements of the skin and emulate these elements in their skin care products. The skin care products are formulated for sensitive skin, maintaining the pH of the skin so that it does not get over stripped or processed. Isomers products can be used on all skin types, ages and colours – This is how Isomers skin care products are unique & different from their competitors.
Are there skin conditions that Isomers products should not be used with ?
Isomers skin care products are specifically used for cosmetic benefit to your skin. If you have a skin condition that requires medical attention, we would strongly advisethat you to consult your Doctor immediately. In situations where you are under medical supervision, it is recommeded that you show the list of ingredients for the isomers product that you wish to use to your Doctor or a dermitologist, and let the specialist decide whether the isomers product is right for you & your skin condition. If you have any allergies, we recommend that you do a patch test.
Why don’t Isomers have a toner in their range ?
The purpose of toners is to clean the skin one more time to mop up what the cleansers have left behind, and to re-establish the skin pH, if a cleanser is too harsh. Isomers gentle cleansers clean in just one simple step and do not stress the skin by altering its pH in any negative way. Therefore there is no need for use of toner's with Isomers skin care routines
Can I use Isomers products with other skin care ranges ?
Isomer products are generally compatible with most non Isomers skin care ranges. There may be other skin care manufacturers that enter the skin care market and as such Isomers may not be immediately familiar with every new skin care product released.

Its about getting the best optimum results for your skin regardless of the order of product application.
How often should I be exfoliating & what is enough exfoliation ?
Daily exfoliating should be gentle. Using a wash/face cloth and good cleanser with BHA or synthetic beads in it will help to gently exfoliate. But you can over do exfoliation, so be careful & gentle. Your skin will let you know if its too much.
When skin is red or dry or irriated that area has been over exfolaited.
Too many acids, or too intensive of a formualtion will hurt your skin.
A general guideline is to wait at least 36 hours between any type of exfolaition. It takes that amount of time to regenerate the acid mantle of the skin and help restore the natural barrier function of the skin. Every time we wash and scrub we can be distrubing this barrier and over exfoliating our skin.
Do Isomers do Animal Testing ?
Isomers Laboratories is against any animal testing on cosmetics products & ingredients. Isomers do not test products or ingredients on any animals. They never have. Isomers design and develop their products from key selected ingredients that their safety and efficacy has already been established and then further evaluate their performance and synergistic effects through clinical trials on real human volunteers utilising the latest non invasive analytical techniques.
What are Parabens ? Do Isomers use any Parabens ?
Preservatives are used in cosmetic formulations to help safeguard them from exposure to bacteria and fungal growth. This helps keep formulations stable & safe for use. Parabens are a group of widely used preservatives, for example. Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, etc....
This group of preservatives have been at the middle of many controversial studies, linking them to issues such as skin sensitization and cancer. After consultation with various research groups and reviewing the available safety data on parabens, isomers believe much of what is being said is exaggerated and parabens are a victim of today's media which is based on selling "sensationalism" and news that they are controversial and negatively hyped. The facts in media are not always stated properly and usually twisted after all fear based media is usually more attractive and proven to increase sales.
That said, in order to eliminate isomers customer's concern in this area we have been working hard to develop a universal ( i.e. fights bacteria & fungi) paraben free system that is effective & safe and doesn't become a formaldehyde donor, many of the present alternative paraben free formulations operate via releasing formaldehyde in the cosmetic matrix. This includes natural systems. After numerous trials isomers have been able to develop a safe stable alternative. All of Isomers products are now paraben free. Isomers have methodically modified older formulations to the new preservative system.
Isomers would like to emphasize that in their opinion on the safety of parabens has not changed and this move has been a step to reduce customer safety concerns and has been based on customer requests for paraben free formulations.
Why do Isomers use Propylene Glycol ?
The concern about propylene glycol is all negative marketing hype. The material is safe and is used as a excipient in many pharmaceutical companies to improve the performance of their product range. The second ingredient is a mold inhibitor that is approved by the FDA for its use in cosmetics. Using only 0.001% and it is totally safe at that kind of level.
Regardless of this safety fact isomers are in the process of removing all Parabens and DUs from their formulation to keep customers happy and meet their needs.
I received my Isomers product in the post and it is frozen, will it be ok ?
I received my Isomers product in the post and it has been sitting outside in the heat, will it be ok ?
During the Isomers product development, a number of different stability tests are performed. Some of these tests consist of heat stability-shelf life plus freeze/thaw evaluations. Product stability is based of keeping the sample product at elevated temperature for 90 days. If the product passes the test, you can determine that it will have a minimum shelf life of at least two years and that it will tolerate higher temperatures for a shorter time without compromising any of the product quality.
The Freeze/Thaw test basically consists of freezing and then thawing the product for 3 cycles. Passing this test will imply that when the product freezes and subsequently thaws under room temperature conditions the product characteristics and or quality are not compromised.
This means should you receive a product or products delivered to you during hot summer months or frozen in winter months you ned not worry about the product being compromised. After you receive a product, it is very important that you store the product at room temperature (less than 24 degrees Celsius or 75 degrees Fahrenheit) and prevent any sun exposure. If the product is frozen, thaw it at room temperature or in a warm water bath. * do not put the product in the microwave *. Isomers product bottles are dark in colour - this is done to help prevent light ingress.
Why do Isomers use silicones in their products ? People can be sensitive to them.
Silicones expand over a broad range of ingredients and molecules. They should be all classed under the same umbrella. Inclusion of specific silicone molecules can encourage the formulation to act like a time / slow release matrix and the generation of a semi occlusive barrier where penetration of the key ingredients can be further improved.
Even though certain silicones may be irritating to the skin, a wide group of silicone like the ones Isomers use are conversely soothing to the skin by creating a lovely velvety emollient film.
Why do Isomers use phenoxyethanol ?
Preservatives are vital components of toiletries & cosmetics as they ensure a good microbial quality of the product. Preservatives opperate by creating an environment that is not favorable to the survival and growth of micro organisms.
Phenoxyethanol has been used for the preservation of cosmetics since 1970. As well as it's use in the personal care industry, Phenoxyethanol is also used as a preservative in pharmaceutical applications. It gives a broad spectrum antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive & Gram-negative bacteria, mold and yeast
The European Union, Brazil & Japan have approved Phenoxyethanol to a maximum allowable concentration of 1% for all personal care applications. Isomers uses this ingredient at substantially lower concentration in its cosmetic formulations.
Isomers moved to this ingredient to make it's formulations paraben free.
When making a safety assessment, reading through the various information sources please bare in mind that any ingredient at a high dosage can and will become toxic and this can include water, grapefruit juice and vitamins. The use of Phenoxyethanol at the approved levels in cosmetics is safe and at the recommended use levels to the best of Isomers knowledge has not been attributed to any health hazards.
What is the percentage of Vitamin C in - Vitamin C&E High Potency Serum ?
The exact concentration of MAP in isomers formulations is considered to be confidential information. We can say that isomers use substantially higher dosage than the clinically tested amounts in an optimised delivery system. It is all in the design.
For cosmetic formulations the concentration of the active ingredient doesn't necessarily determine it's performance. The design of the product formula is the key factor. EG. you can purchase pure vitamin C from the pharmacy for a lot less, but putting it on to your skin will not give you any benefit.
My Isomers Totally Tugless Makeup Remover has gone solid.
Isomers Totally Tugless Make up Remover has a very low freezing point, it can be normal to receive in a solid state if it has been exposed to colder temperatures. Allow it thaw at room temperature, shaking it now and again. To ensure that it does not solidify again, store it at room temperature, ensure that it is completely 100% liquid. If you can see any crystals left in the bottle, there is a tendancy of it solidifying again.
